Colonnade creates memorable experiences for both CFB150 and the CFP National Championship.

CFP Championship Hospitality is always a unique event to create, and every year it allows our team an opportunity to build and strengthen relationships as we work hard to make both teams feel special. Event Director Rachel Kaiser shares, “Each year we have had at least one team back in the game that we have previously worked with. It’s special for us to get to serve the same great team of people we had previously built a relationship with. They know the drill already, so it creates a fun working atmosphere for everyone. This year for LSU, it was special they were in their home state and so close to their university and a lot of their fan base.”

A challenge we face with an annual event is keeping the spaces fresh and new. We always strive for that in every event, but it’s escalated when the same team is back. Updating the look of the space, while still keeping the elements the student athletes love (for example, floor decals with each player’s name) is vital. As Kaiser says, “The most important part is the guests enjoyed themselves, while feeling celebrated and special,” and that sums up our goal for every event.

While Team Hospitality was underway, Colonnade was also working hard on CFB150, a literal once-in-a-lifetime event. This event was unique, because in addition to planning and executing the celebration reception, Colonnade was also responsible for the travel coordination for the Top 11 honorees as well as assisting with gameday logistics for the halftime recognition during the National Championship game. We were able to expertly navigate travel changes, unexpected gameday challenges, and visits with the President of the United States. Summing up this occasion, Event Director Lisa Donachie says, “The highlight of CFB150 was the halftime recognition! It was momentous to see all the teamwork internally and externally finish on a national stage. We are grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in such a historic event!”

This year’s National Championship was one for the books, and we can’t wait to head to Miami in 2021!
