Designing and executing one-of-a-kind fan events, creating custom signage, assisting sponsors, organizing catering, coordinating with vendors and providing premium hospitality services—at Colonnade Group, it’s all in a day’s work. In the case of December 2nd, however, it was all in a day’s work at three different Conference Championships around the country.
We helped the Big 12, the Big Ten, and the SEC craft engaging fan events and unique VIP experiences to get their fans ready for three of the biggest Conference Championship games in the country.
That morning, the Big 12 Championship Game at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium saw the Oklahoma Sooners face off against Texas Christian University in the first Big 12 Championship in six years! And it was not without its logistical challenges. Because there was a Cowboy’s game the Thursday night before, Colonnade had only had one day to set up the official Dr Pepper fan event. That included setting up game stations, coordinating with sponsors, placing signage, wrangling entertainment and catering, and setting up TVs. Not only that, but Colonnnade VIP provided corporate hospitality services during the game in the Stadium Club.
The exciting SEC Championship game that afternoon put Conference powerhouses Georgia and Auburn head-to-head once more at the new Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta. In addition to helping fans navigate the new landscape, we hosted the official VIP hospitality in a new location, and once again produced another fan-filled Dr Pepper SEC Football FanFare event. FanFare opened Friday hosting the Paul Finebaum show and continued through Saturday’s game day with live broadcasts from the SEC Nation show, sponsor activitations and culminating with each team’s pep rallies. Thousands of fans gathered to show to their team spirit and have a little fun before the game.
That evening, the Big Ten Championship Game had the Buckeyes of Ohio State against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Colonnade VIP designed and produced the official pregame hospitality at the Indiana Convention Center. The Big Ten Fan Fest featured more than 200,000 square feet of the Indiana Convention Center dedicated to interactive games and entertainment, sponsors interactives, and special guest appearances by mascots and performances by the participating teams’ bands.
