Colonnade recruits candidates for full-time interns to work with various event teams from June through April. We’ll begin contacting candidates for interviews in March.

  • Work with venue staff, security staff, sponsors, clients, volunteers, and other vested groups associated with event production.
  • Produce and distribute event credentials to clients and sponsors.
  • Coordinate schedules of vendors, labor crews, production crews, and other entities.
  • Assist with event opening and closing activities, including load-ins and load-outs.
  • Interface with event personnel to address challenges and needs before, during and after events.
  • Maintain and update event files, event calendars and other spreadsheets.
  • Research projects
  • File and record updates
  • Administrative/office support (e.g., staff travel reservations, mailings, filings, supply orders, etc.)
  • Hospitality villages on University campuses
  • Corporate hospitality events for SEC, Big 10 and Big 12 conference championships (football and basketball)
  • Fan events at SEC, Big 10 and Big 12 football championships, basketball and baseball tournaments
  • Events associated with the College Football Playoff
  • Events associated with the Birmingham Bowl
  • Positive attitude, strong sense of teamwork and customer service
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends, and to travel as needed for events during internship period
  • Commitment to work football championship week/end (November 25 – December 2).
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) and website content management platforms.
  • Preferably no scheduled class conflicts on Fridays during Fall 2018; weekly in-office schedules are negotiable.
  • Knowledge and experience in creative design applications, such as Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Publisher, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
